Walt Whitman’s Birthplace – State Historic Site Outing
February 28 @ 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm

We will be embarking on a Project Stewardship teen and young adult outing to Walt Whitman’s Birthplace and New York State Historic Site this month! Excited to participate in “Reminiscing with Walt,” a living history component of the visit where participants will step back into the 1800s and interact with “Walt Whitman” brought to life by the appearance of personator Darrel Ford. “Walt” will be reminiscing and storytelling as he engages participants in the Interpretive Center and, with a knowledgeable guide, you will visit the 19th century farmhouse in which Walt was born. We will have time for a brief poetry reading from “Leaves of Grass” while we have refreshments together.
