Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS), developed by Dr. Ross Greene, enables adults to work with young people to solve problems and build skills, minimizing challenging behavior.
Have you tried using Collaborative & Proactive Solutions with your child or student and run into “bumps in the road”? Maybe your child/student had difficulty communicating or could not explain what was making it hard for them to meet an expectation. Maybe no one could come up with a mutually satisfactory solution to a problem situation. OR maybe as a parent or educator, you have been struggling with using Plan B (the problem-solving process) and C (setting an expectation aside for the moment while working on other problem situation) instead of using Plan A (which we know is not typically successful). Dr. Lisa LoPinto can help and support your current efforts in using the CPS model.
If you haven’t used CPS before, no worries… In either case, come and bring the problem situations you are experiencing with your child/student and we can delve into them using the CPS framework. We will accept questions ahead of time (please submit the ALSUP and related questions via e-mail: info@sanghacenter.org). We look forward to providing guidance and enabling more calm and connection within your family or school setting as everyone learns how to build skills and solve problems together.
Dr. LoPinto is a clinical psychologist in private practice who also offers CPS family skills training. She is a certified CPS provider/trainer who consults with, trains and offers school district supervisions in the CPS approach. Christine Keller has attended CPS advanced training, established the Community Support Group in 2008 and utilizes CPS in her work with young people at Sangha Education Center. Dr. Greene offers a range of educational resources on this non-profit Lives in the Balance website which you can refer to at any time including worksheets, videos and more.
