Studio Ghibli Animated Film & Reflection – Part 1
September 25 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

We are excited to offer a new opportunity for teens and young adults: a movie screening and guided reflection process based on “Spirited Away”, a Studio Ghibli production by Hayao Miyazaki, an internationally famous Japanese Filmmaker/Animator whose movies are known for their beautiful art, deep and reflective themes, and their creation of intricate, magical worlds. His stories focus on nature, peace, growth, kindness, greed, and self-reflection.
This will be a two-part class, taking place on 9/25 and 10/9, moderated by Nadia Abbas, who has selected this film as a personal favorite that leads viewers to appreciate the world and the people around us. Nadia has organized the guided reflection process into categories of human feelings, behavior, and ways of understanding, with question prompts around characters in the film, people in society, and our own life experiences to engage and educate our young people in a fun and meaningful way.
