This interactive presentation challenges the one-size-fits-all approach to learning and behavior. We will discuss Kids Who Fall Through The Cracks and the importance of “whole-child” practices that enables students to find personal meaning in learning, grow at their developmental pace, and cultivate a feeling of self-worth for who they are and how they learn. Attendees will be taught how to initiate skill building with their young people, gain access to educational tools that customize the learning and production process, and participate in a Universal Design for Learning environment where all learners can flourish. Four main components towards supporting and educating the whole-learner include environment, community, exposure and opportunity and use both direct and indirect teaching methods. This is an open forum to answer questions and to guide parents and professionals.
