We are excited to embark on an outing to the African American Museum of Nassau County where we will receive a guided tour of the exhibitions that create a greater understanding of African American culture, art, and traditions. We may also be able to participate in a Harriett Tubman one woman show if additional performances can be scheduled (a private one for Sangha!). In either case, we will be working with staff at the African American Museum of Nassau County for an enjoyable and enlightening interactive learning experience!
The museum provides education through exhibitions, collections, programs, and historic preservation for the enrichment of the public, with emphasis on Long Island. Insightful and aspiring themed tours of its collection are led by trained museum guides, encompassing varied interest areas. AAMNC is one, of only two, African American museums in the northeast. And the African Atlantic Genealogical Society, Inc. (TAAGS) became affiliated with the Museum in 1998 offering workshops and consultation to the community.
