Memoir Moments: Two-Session Creative Writing Workshop – Part 1
April 11 @ 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm

Join us on Saturdays, April 11thand April 18thwith Herstory!
Is there a story from an important moment in your life waiting to be told?
Do you feel your story could help or educate others?
Simple moments can be powerful!
Join Herstory Writers Network (hyperlink: https://www.herstorywriters.org/) for a two-part writing workshop designed especially for the Sangha community. Together, we’ll help you shape a meaningful moment from your life into writing powerful enough to reach the people and communities around you. Through guided memoir-writing exercises and a supportive story-sharing circle, you’ll begin transforming your experiences into short memoirs you can proudly share with others.
More About This Workshop
In the first session, workshop facilitators and participants will work together to explore and choose the parts of your life story you’d like to craft into a memoir. You’ll begin shaping your story out loud in a supportive story circle, trying out different possible beginnings and structures. Between sessions, you’ll start writing the ideas you developed during the circle.
In the second session, you’ll share your draft to receive feedback from facilitators and fellow participants and will have dedicated writing time to continue developing your piece. Throughout both sessions, we will focus on techniques that help you create stories that touch the hearts of others and craft engaging scenes from the moments that matter most to you. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have created a short memoir with the potential to spark change in the world.
This workshop is open to anyone in the Sangha community. No prior writing experience is needed!
