Our Project Stewardship teens & young adults will participate in Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Family Celebration being offered at the Heckscher Museum of Art in the Village of Huntington. Meet artists Sueey Gutierrez, Brianna L. Hernandez, and Manuel Alejandro Macarrulla and Latino Moms Connect, Inc.
Enjoy learning about this special holiday and how it is celebrated around the world. Create colorful works of art inspired by the celebration and collaborating artists. As part of this tradition, bring something personal to leave at the museum ofrenda to honor and remember loved ones.
Activities throughout the day will include mask-making, designing your own memorial, flower-making, face painting, and more. Watch the documentary Strong Yaqui Women by Miroslava Gonzalez (at certain times). Enjoy churros and hot chocolate donated by the Town of Huntington Hispanic Advisory Task Force.
This event is sponsored by Latina Moms Connect, Inc., and the Town of Huntington Hispanic Advisory Task Force. Drop-off. Pick-up at the museum parking lot (side street towards the museum).
