Unfortunately, we now need to cancel due to wet ground from rain. We will schedule another time indoors at SUNY OW in the Fall 2023 or Spring 2024. Post once date is set.
Teens and young adults in our Project Stewardship program have been waiting to witness Gatka!! And they are happy to host the community at-large to participate with us for this special event! All will be inspired by the Sikh justice mindset where treating people with dignity and respect and advocating for the rights of others is cultivated.
We are privileged to be joined by friends and community partners, Dr. Deep Singh and Sarabjit Kaur who established Gatka Federation U.S.A. They will provide an introduction to the history and demonstrate the art and skill of Gatka (Sikh Martial Arts) as an extension of the tradition of righteousness and equality for all.
Enjoy observing this interesting, unique, and fun cultural martial arts form. There will be time for practice, Q&A and socialization. Refreshments served.
All are welcome… Adult community members, community groups, teens, young adults, and families with young children may offer a DONATION to attend. We invite you to our center for heart-centered learning and appreciate your support of our programs.
