SUMMARY:Sweetbriar Butterfly & Bird Festival
DESCRIPTION:Sweetbriar Nature Center provides natural science education for Long Island residents of all ages and engages in native wildlife rehabilitation services. Our Project Stewardship teen and young adult group is excited to return to Sweetbriar for this SPECIAL EVENT… Annual Butterfly and Bird Festival and the seasonal opening of the Butterfly Vivarium. The day will be filled with wildlife presentations\, craft vendors\, food trucks\, musical performances\, and more!  \n\n\n\nNOTE: This is an extended day outing for May and June combined (double time w/adjusted fee). If you prefer to come for two hours\, instead of four\, you may register at the regular two-hour Project Stewardship event fee via our donation page.Those registering with Sangha will have their names on the Sweetbriar attendance list. Simply provide your name as you enter and let Sweetbriar staff know you are with Sangha Education Center. We will have a table in the backyard area (which will be our meet-up place). Please come to our table when you arrive to gather and then participate in the event together. \n\n\n\nWe will have time for a nature walk on this 54-acre property of gardens\, meadows\, woodlands and wetland habitats along the Nissequogue River where hundreds of species of plants and animals make their homes. DESCRIPTION:We were just informed that the Sweetbriar Nature Center’s Annual Festival will either be cancelled or postponed.  BUT\, we will still be visiting Sweetbriar with our Project Stewardship participants. \n\n\n\nOur Project Stewardship young adults have requested to return to Sweetbriar Nature Center. We will do our monthly outing there this month! The butterfly vivarium will be open and there will be a range of wildlife to observe\, hold and visit\, as well as hiking in the preserve. Sweetbriar Nature Center cares for injured animals\, provides wildlife rehabilitation and nature education programs. We are grateful for our community partnership and collaboration on behalf of our youth and the community at-large! DESCRIPTION:Our Project Stewardship young adult group will participate with Sweetbriar Nature Center for a Halloween “Spooktacual” this month. We will enjoy eerie animal presentations\, a ghostly graveyard\, creepy games\, scary music\, and spooky night trails. Refreshments & food available for purchase. Wearing masks and social distancing rules apply even outdoors.  Admission charge of $15 (in addition to our Project Stewardship annual membership fee).
