DESCRIPTION:Photo by Chungkuk Bae on Unsplash\n\n\n\nWe would like to express our thanks to all who have contributed to making the Kindness Garden possible and the ongoing assistance we have received at our Meadow Farm space. Special thanks to our program participants\, Laura and Brooke\, through whom the idea manifested! \n\n\n\nIt is our pleasure to arrange a day to dedicate the Kindness Garden to two extraordinary individuals whose heart-centered existence impacted ours: To Antonet Bivona-Bayrak\, my childhood friend and “soul sister”\, lover of children and animals\, whose kindness and amazing smile lit up the lives of all those who knew her. And\, to Bernice Simmons\, one of our Sangha kids who volunteered with us and served as an important advocate for herself and others\, a beckon of light and kindness. Her rainbow light continues to shine on (literally) which we will discuss at the dedication celebration. \n\n\n\nOn this special day\, dedicated to those who embodied kindness and advocated for its presence in the world\, we will take our nature trail to the Kindness Garden and share some readings and stories with one another. And\, also plant some seeds of kindness in the garden. We will then return to Malcolm House for a reception with refreshments\, music\, and community camaraderie. DESCRIPTION:Photo by Andre Furtado\n\n\n\nHappy to introduce Learn & Grow – Perspective Photography to expand flexibility of mind and boost creativity. We welcome community groups\, adults\, teens/young adults\, and families with younger children to participate.  \n\n\n\nWe will capture the present moment during interactive mindful nature photography based on the categories of size\, quantity\, quality\, speed\, accomplishment\, transformation\, emanation\, journey\, seeing\, encounter\, experience. The mind is usually bound by appearance and these photographic exercises will provide the opportunity to challenge perceptions and establish new and expanded perspectives. We welcome families with younger children\, community groups\, adults\, and teens/young adults to participate in developing a body and mind balance through a range of fun mindful movement activities!  \n\n\n\nThere will be movement stations for all ages and abilities. We will include “Yoga Mountain Story”\, nature move & paint wood hanging flowers\, and conclude with a wind-tree walking meditation and sharing circle. An extended walk on the trail to our Meadow Farm will take place\, time and weather permitting. Please feel free to contact us with any questions. SUMMARY:Meadow Farm Volunteer Day
DESCRIPTION:Join us this Spring 2022 as we move forward with our Meadow Farm development! This will include the Seed Start Garden & Library spear-headed by Farmer Regina\, the Medicine Wheel Garden designed by our young adult program participants and a Kindness [flower] Garden with its anti-bullying theme. All toward the education and well-being of all!  \n\n\n\nCreative ideas are to be implemented during a range of projects where there is something for everyone to do! During the Spring and Fall seasons\, community volunteer days are scheduled once monthly – on Saturdays or Sundays from 10:30am-12:30pm. Plant & Learn educational workshops are offered on certain Saturdays (1-3pm) for those who can stay to attend. During July into first part of August\, we will hold summer volunteer hours once per week from 10:30am-12:30pm (dates to be announced).  \n\n\n\nVolunteer days are weather-dependent. Therefore\, if there is light rain\, we are on! If there is a rain storm\, we will cancel. Based on weather\, some volunteer days may be on the grounds around historic Malcolm House. SUMMARY:Meadow Farm Volunteer Day (CANCELLED due to weather)
DESCRIPTION:Join us this Spring 2022 as we move forward with our Meadow Farm development! This will include the Seed Start Garden & Library spear-headed by Farmer Regina\, the Medicine Wheel Garden designed by our young adult program participants and a Kindness [flower] Garden with its anti-bullying theme. All toward the education and well-being of all!  \n\n\n\nCreative ideas are to be implemented during a range of projects where there is something for everyone to do! During the Spring and Fall seasons\, community volunteer days are scheduled once monthly – on Saturdays or Sundays from 10:30am-12:30pm. Plant & Learn educational workshops are offered on certain Saturdays (1-3pm) for those who can stay to attend. During July into first part of August\, we will hold summer volunteer hours once per week from 10:30am-12:30pm (dates to be announced).  \n\n\n\nVolunteer days are weather-dependent. Therefore\, if there is light rain\, we are on! If there is a rain storm\, we will cancel. Based on weather\, some volunteer days may be on the grounds around historic Malcolm House. Come participate in organic experiences that develop as we are together at Malcolm House on the Jericho Preserve. \n\n\n\nThemes change\, but some highlights have included “connecting with trees”\, “making nature’s music”\, “collecting nature scents”\, “seeing self in nature” and other “invitations” to engage in Nature. Community circles are included for reflection. Gain a closer connection to the natural world and yourself\, minimizing anxiety and increasing well-being.
