Description
Learn what diversity in nature has to teach! Nature is a community made up of many interrelated living systems connecting us as kin. Allow plants, animals, land and water to shed light on the human experience in our Long Island “learnscape” via hands-on activities and multiple mediums.
During this 4-week summer program (7/5-7/30/21) young people with a range of abilities and needs (ages 13-23) are introduced to a sampling of heart-centered nature and wellness workshops and activities. Games, too! Participants will come together for outdoor learning experiences, enjoy camaraderie and minimize anxiety. Nature exploration is guided by our farmers, teachers, peer-mentors and community partners. Opportunities for team-building and problem-solving are incorporated. See our full schedule of Summer at the Sangha sessions to learn more or register by the week.
Summer at the Sangha takes place Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11am-3pm during July with a morning and an afternoon session; lunch break in between (bring your own). Water and healthy snacks available. Open air tents are set up outdoors. COVID-19 safety protocols followed. Raindates are scheduled at the end of the season, if needed.
If you haven’t already, we look forward to your meeting Farmer Regina, some of our wonderful teachers, and community partners! Peer-mentors work with us to guide our young people throughout the day. Excited for you to be part of our collaborative community!
